Wilson cellular amplifiers

Jim,

For the past two years or more I've used a different Wilson amplifier
(specific to iPhones and no longer available) coupled to a spreader-mounted
cellular antenna about 15 feet above the LWL with great success.  Cruising
underpopulated areas of Maine and Nova Scotia where cell service with a
"naked" phone is often a problem, slipping my iPhone into the amplifier
typically takes me from no signal or one bar right up to three and
sometimes four bars and good, solid communications, both data and voice.
I liked the Wilson so well I bought one for my car and have had a similar
good experience with it, though using the standard antenna on top of the
car doesn't provide quite as much gain as the antenna on the boat's
spreader.  Tech support from Wilson has been superior.  Of course, YMMV.

Anybody used this?  Seems easy and can be transported boat-to-auto. ~$110

street price.  Can I sit my MiFi brick in it and boost that signal, as
well?  I use Verizon and would need the 4G-V model.  Is there a
cheaper/better option?

Thanks, Jim
