This past weekend's conditions matched or surpassed the excellent conditions we had last weekend. Summer temperatures with a steady and building wind from the south (12+) on Saturday for the Hudson River Race, and a strong (15+) northerly wind on Sunday for our regular Sunday races.
We covered a lot of ground! Spinnaker fleet had an 18-mile course on Saturday (to Govt Mark 26), and Non-Spin a 14-mile course (to Govt 22). On Sunday, the Non-Spin fleet sailed 10 miles over two races, both on Course 3 (B-D-C-E)..
Next weekend (Oct 4-5) is the final regatta of the season -- the NBC Last Chance Regatta (REGISTER HERE). Summer will be over for this event, with temperatures forecast in high 50s.
At Saturday's Hudson River Race we had 16 boats racing: 9 in the Spinnaker division (4 NBC members) , and 7 in the Non-Spinnaker division (with 4 NBC members plus 2 NBC fleet friends from Shattemuc). On Sunday, the most reliable Sunday racers were on the course -- three boats (Pentimento, Sheba, Zoom); each has sailed at least 10 regular Sunday races this season (as well as many of the regattas in our series).
Below you'll find the latest Cruising Fleet Series Standings and detailed results from the Saturday and Sunday races. The standings now exclude competitors who have yet to meet the minimum number of races to qualify (20 races for Fleet Champ, 10 races for Sunday/Regatta Series). Before we have final results, we also need to reflect RC and RP duty and make sure competitors have been credited their duty races.
