Thanks to all for your advise.  As a note to any that will be doing this
project here is what we have come across so far.

Since we had removed the caulking before thinking that we re-caulking the
teak came up easy after removing 576 screws.  We used a hammer and crow bar and
the stripe came up easy.  Once up the nasty black caulking is the next issue to
deal with.  So of ours was still soft and some hard as a rock.  The first day
we took steel brushes and did 1/4 of the deck to remove all the mess.  Second
day thanks George the boat across from us we used a heat gun and the steel
brushes.  Much much easier.  We only found one small soft spot so we feel lucky.

Our plans are now to fill all the drilled out screw holes, sand the decks,
paint the smooth area and then tape and paint nonskid on the diamond  pattern
area.  We did find the decking under the teak not useable and it is not a solid
pattern.  So void areas and not sure we could ever match the pattern.
Good luck to those that said you paln on doing this soon.  We have found that
our deck now looks much bigger.
