Not much to report from an early afternoon visit to a couple spots in Bridgeport/Stratford yesterday. I failed to locate any major gull flocks, as Tina Green reported. There was a male RING-NECKED PHEASANT feeding along the edge of the landfill near the road at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, and there were 40 Killdeer on the lawns along with very modest numbers of the 4 common gull species. An AMERICAN KESTREL was migrating along the coast (at this point the rain had ended and the wind was out of the north). The WHITE-TAILED KITE was perched behind the tennis courts at Short Beach for a few minutes before flying into the wind to the north once the skies began to clear. An immature PEREGRINE FALCON was also making the rounds, but did not directly interact with the kite. As for Don's question about which day will be better at Lighthouse Pt, my guess would be whichever day has more clouds. Right now it's looking awfully bright and sunny out there, so perhaps tomorrow will have the better sky? Nick Bonomo Wallingford, CT
