pressure washer seems like the hot setup.  Go ahead and use fresh
water  from
your potable system

That might be fine for boaters who marina hop and can refill their
water systems with ease, although these folks probably rarely need to
wash down their anchor and rode.  But here in the PNW, fresh water is
not always easy to come by, particularly in some of the islands later
in the summer.  And if you're going to be anchoring out a lot with
longer periods between visits to harbors and marinas it makes no
sense to waste your fresh water supply cleaning mud off an anchor and
rode.  Plus you have to have AC for the pressure washer, which some
boats don't have at all, or they have to start a generator, or maybe
they don't have an inverter with the capacity to run it.  Plus you
have to store it somewhere, which on some boats is not as easy as on
others.
