Greetings HBCU Library Alliance Members,
The purpose of this e-mail is to provide an update on the July 6-7 meeting at Hampton University (VA) and to solicit your participation with a Bylaws Task Force.
Deans and Directors Leadership Meeting - July 6-7 Hampton University (VA)
Thanks to all who have responded to the meeting information request form. At yesterday's Board meeting, it was agreed upon by the Board to title the meeting Deans and Directors Leadership meeting rather than a Membership meeting. This change occurred because the suggested agenda items that were solicited from the membership included governance issues that require input and guidance from library leadership. Therefore, the meeting attendance should be exclusive to Deans and Directors.
Bylaws Task Force
The Board of Directors is soliciting members in good standing to help create a Task Force to prepare an updated draft of the HBCU Library Alliance Bylaws. Six library Deans/Directors and one HBCU Library Alliance Board member will comprise the Task Force. Meetings will be held virtually in advance of the Deans and Directors Leadership meeting to prepare the draft. The Task Force will present the bylaws draft at the Deans and Directors Leadership meeting.
