STQRY(tm)<http://www.stqry.com/> is an interactive storytelling platform for iPhone, Android, and Windows phones that allows users to navigate area attractions using a geolocation function. "Through STQRY(tm), Tacoma's arts and cultural organizations get more exposure to a wider audience in a way that puts us on an even playing field with Seattle-area institutions," Ketcham added. The app's content is organized with brief and informative stories that contain photos, text, maps, audio, video, hyperlinks and social media feeds. An additional feature is the app's ability to translate text into the language of the user's phone, making STQRY(tm)'s content available in over 60 languages. Visitors from around the world, such as the anticipated 235,000 guests attending the US Open in June, will find STQRY(tm) helpful in planning their sightseeing itineraries. STQRY(tm) was founded in 2012 by Seattle native and CEO Chris Smith while at university in New Zealand. Inspired by a visit to the Wellington Zoo, during which he met a knowledgeable zookeeper, Chris utilized his love for cultural experiences and his innovative technology background to create STQRY(tm) as a way to share the zookeeper's stories with visitors on one easy-to-use mobile platform. Since 2012, STQRY(tm) has grown to include over 400 organizations in the art and cultural community - including museums, aquariums, art galleries, historical societies, art walks, citywide events, airports, tourism sites and more.
