Description:
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at the University of
Houston invites applications for a full-time lecturer in Japanese to
teach language courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum.
The University of Houston, with one of the most diverse student bodies
in the nation seeks to recruit and retain a diverse community of
scholars. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted via
http://www.uh.edu/human-resources/careers. To apply candidates must
provide a letter of interest, a current Curriculum Vitae, and provide
contact information (email addresses) for two references. Letters will
be requested for finalists later.
The University of Houston is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action
institution. Minorities, women, veterans, and persons with
disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: Experience in teaching Japanese language at all levels
of the curriculum is required. Native or near-native proficiency in
Japanese and English and an MA degree in Japanese, applied
linguistics, foreign language pedagogy, or related field is required.
Notes to Applicant: Official transcripts of all academic degrees are
required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon
selection of the final candidate. All positions at the University of
Houston are security sensitive and will require a criminal history
check.
