Here's a belated report from Lighthouse; it took a while to complete the
HawkCount and eBird reports. A FROPA and steady NW winds brought 868
raptors including: TV 44, Osprey 58, Bald Eagle 7, Northern Harrier 23,
Sharp-shinned 345, Cooper's 77, Broad-winged 8, Red-tailed 5, American
Kestrel 178, Merlin 71, Peregrine 7, unid. 40.
The falcon flight was amazing all afternoon, finally winding down a bit
after 5:30 pm. The morning flight included many hundreds of House Finch,
Purple Finch American Goldfinch and Pine Siskins.
274 raptors today (10/9) before winds went onshore. A modest flight is
expected on SW winds tomorrow.
