TWL: New software connects Raymarine radar to your PC

I always wondered why Raymarine did not provide a PC interface to the high
speed bus, so that one could overlay a radar image on a chart using a pc
rather than a dedicated chartplotter.

It looks like they had the same idea (the software business has much higher
margins than the hardware business).  On their website, www.raymarine.com,
they have announced version four of the RayTech Navigator.  Very nice
screen shots of a radar displays on top of charts.

Now one does not need to buy the seriously overpriced Nobeltech Sci-Tex
radar to have this capability.

Best,

Steve

The Raymarine product also offers as standard, 10 target MARPA. I don't
think this is available on the VNS product.
