with 7 other birders. Viewed the pond from the top of the hill near
red barn through the trees.
Madison, Hammonasset SP -- 1 SHORT-EARED OWL seen by the whole family
from the Cedar Island platform. Birders coming and going continually.
At 2pm the owl dropped down to the ground from its perch and was not
visible.

Jerry Connolly's Audubon Shop walk this morning. At end of the Cedar
Island trail look straight out east, perched on a branch two feet off
the ground about ten feet to the left of the small conifer at the left
end of the beach. As of noon it had been there over one hour.

11/02/13 - Salisbury(?), Twin Lakes -- late afternoon -- quiet except
for two RED-NECKED GREBE. Slightly different plumages--one was very
subtle, the other had more of a contrasting cheek pattern and a bit of
rufous on the neck. They were off the boat launch and could be viewed
quite well by walking out on the docks. Also Common Raven.
