BUY, SELL AND TRADE TRAWLERS AND TRAWLERING GEAR
View all threadsI just replaced my (expired) 6 UKL Viking with an 8-person model.
It's a Viking "RescYou" offshore liferaft, type 6 UKL, with U.S.
offshore supplies ("E" pack), in a fiberglass canister.
This raft was new in approximately November, 2006 and has been
continuously maintained and re-certified. Last re-pack was done by
Viking in Florida in March, 2014 (expired 3/17). In addition to
re-packing and re-certifying the raft at that time, the canister was
also refurbished (sun damage). Receipt from last service available.
New 6 UKL rafts from Viking come in high-visibility yellow, but when
this raft was made they were International Orange.
The last re-certification by Viking cost just under $1,000, exclusive of
the canister repairs. (After repairing the canister in 2014 we covered
the raft with a Sunbrella cover to eliminate the sun damage that
necessitated the repairs. The canister is now in excellent condition.)
Re-certification is due and required in order to use this raft on any
vessel which requires one.
The 12-year warranty on the raft itself has now expired. The raft was
found to be in good condition at last service in 2014, however there is
no guarantee that the raft can still be certified. Viking rafts commonly
last 20-25 years with regular maintenance, but the possibility always
exists that the raft will be condemned upon its next inspection.
Purchaser assumes all risk that the raft may not pass inspection. I only
warrant that the raft has been properly stowed and never removed from
the canister since last re-pack.
When you have the raft serviced, most if not all of the included
supplies will be replaced. Ask them to give you the old supplies back,
as the pyrotechnics and some other supplies are expensive and often last
for years beyond their replacement dates.
We're at the downtown New River docks in Fort Lauderdale.
I've listed this on the e-place but would rather sell it to a fellow
listee. Make me an offer. New these run $3k.
