Head Coach Position
The Black Ice Women's Rugby Club is seeking a qualified and
motivated Head Coach
for the 2016-2017 competitive season (immediate start
through June 2017). This is an exciting opportunity to
work with a competitive and talented Division I rugby club
who has finished in the top five at the USA Rugby
National Championships the past three years. Black Ice
consists of approximately 30-40 women,
dedicated to the development of the club and the sport of rugby.

Requirements for position

Coach/Instruct the club according to the skill level of the
club members in order to develop and
improve the skills of all members.

Coach/Instruct the club according to the rules and
regulations of the club’s governing body
and/or conference.

Provide the safest possible environment for the team at
practice, games, and team events.

Always conduct oneself in a manner that does not detract
from the reputation of the club.

Stay involved with continuing education and updated
techniques as they pertain to the sport.

Maintain a minimum of a current 200 Level coaching
certification with USA Rugby.

Conduct all practices and contests in a professional,
safe,and responsible manner while
promoting good sportsmanship on and off the field.

Create and execute practice plans and supervise assistant
coaches if applicable.

Be present at all practices and games throughout the season.
In cases where one must be
missed, arrangements must be made prior to the specific
practice or game.

Specific experience coaching woman is preferred but not
required.

Additional Information
:
Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings with games
on Saturdays. Competitive spring and fall
schedules culminate in the National Championship tournament
in late May and early June. Out‐of‐state
travel should be expected for a few games each season.
Travel costs and lodging are covered by the team for away games.
Immediate availability required.
Stipend available based on experience.
