After some previous exchanges on this subject I saw a post by Robin Goffrier (who I hope will e-mail me directly) about loading both the MetroGuide and BlueChart into the 176. I also have a 64m memory chip, and tried that -- but one appears to override the other. Wrote to Garmin, got the response that they cannot both be loaded at the same time. Big disappointment, since I bought the larger memory chip for just that capability. I'm still skeptical that Garmin described this correctly, and would welcome any thoughts/advice.
