Apparently This is not a hoax. Read on non believers and HOAX BUSTERS. This

Al,

I just got back from DC last week and was doing some telecom lobbying

there. This

little piece of legislation don't have a chance of passing at this time.

MCIWorldcom does

not support this, and we are the largest internet traffic supplier in the

world. Besides, as

long as companies are making money with advertising, there will be free

email available.

This is a ploy used by the RBOCS to try and change the telecom act of 1996

to get them

into intralata (long distance) transmissions without letting long distance

into the local market.

They are trying to say that when the bill was passed it was for voice

only, and did not include

data, however it did include data, they just didn't forsee how fast people

would embrace the

internet.
