Dave and I had a brown juvenile White Ibis in the salt marshes in South
Norwalk just after sunset this evening. No camera, no digiscope pics -
barely any light and the bird took off after less than a minute.
Unfortunately most of the area is inaccessible (private property and
neighborhoods) and it appeared to disappear into the trees of Manressa (the
non operational power plant) - we viewed the bird from the water. It was in
the partially exposed mudflats at approximately these coordinates
(41.0756996, -73.4161625)
I wanted to put the word out for people to be on the look out tomorrow in
the area on the coast. EBird list with longer write up to be posted later
tonight.
All the best,
