THIS WEEK IN TRI CLUB (AUGUST 15-21)

Last night our club officers and head coaching team met to discuss our path
forward, mostly focusing on the short term (with plans to focus on the
longer term afterwards).  We decided to proceed with our weekly workouts
for two primary reasons...

  1. To provide some options for you to gather with other Gators.  If you are
not up to participating in the workout, you can definitely stop by just to
be around other Gators.  Yesterday morning, Chris Acosta put together an
impromptu run at the Y and about a dozen of us gathered for a moment of
silence and a few shared their thoughts plus their was a bunch of hugging
and some tears shed and then we walked/jogged/ran together on the track.
For me personally this gathering was very helpful.  Thanks to Chris for
arranging this and leading us through it.  We think that our workouts this
week may be a good meeting spot and could be helpful.

  2. Brian would expect us to move ahead and continue to hone our skills,
many of which he taught us.  Continuing to use all of the things that we
learned from Brian is one of the best ways we can honor him.

In addition to this week's workouts, we also discussed having a gathering
at some point this week at the Spring Valley Y.  We are meeting again
tonight to discuss it further as we are awaiting information about services
for Brian so that we can plan around them.  Our current thought is that we
might have a gathering at the Y on Wednesday or Thursday night.  We will
share additional information as soon as we have it and that should be
sometime between tonight and tomorrow.

If you are would like to speak to one of our leaders one-on-one during this
difficult time, please reach out to any of our officers... Jill, David,
Rachel, or me... or our coaching team... Logan, Dre, Ginny, Don, or Karen.
