Many years ago we did some traveling on sections of the Trent-Severn
with Canadian friends on a houseboat rental. It rained non-stop, the
kids were all just tots, but we had a great time. Now that everybody's
grown up, we're considering revisiting the waterway more extensively,
and taking our own boat.

From what I can derive from the 'official' sites, the minimum
controlling depth is 6 ft, minimum bridge clearance is 21 ft. and the
locks/railways should be OK with our weight and size.

I'm looking for confirmation from anyone who's been  that we'll be OK
with our 43'L x 5'Draft x 16'Beam and 56,000 lbs. We can get our air
draft down to 15-1/2 ft. We're 24 ft. with mast up.

Steve,
We transited the Trent-Severn last year.  I don't think you will have any problems.  Our length is 47', Beam the same, and we are a bit heavier.  Our air draft is 16.6' with mast down.  The draft will be the most concern, but I think you are correct with 6' depth.  There will be several areas that you will need to be careful.  The AGLCA Harbor Host in Peterbourgh, ON would be a good contact.
Cheers,

For sure you will be fine.  Here is our website of our trip in 2010 on
our 50' Marine Trader.  We laid our mast down and our bimini which got
our boat down to 16.5' air draft at the top of the upper deck wind-screen.
This takes you right to the Trent Severn logbook page:
