I just got back today from a trip to Muskogee specifically to see the port
there (and to do some "binness). The place is incredible, the port captain
lives on a trawler there with his wife (a beautiful woman !!!) and is very
knowledgable about the area and access to it. He has apparently spent lots of
time on our inland waterway system. The reason I went there was to find out if
I could start my circumnav from there, and indeed I can. They have a 100 ton
travel lift and covered slips to 75 feet. Transient docks (floating concrete)
are close to the ships store and could handle boats to 90 feet. This port is
absolutely beautifull, and maybe as far inland as possible. I will put in
there in the spring and start my circumnavigation from there. What a neat
place!!!!!
