Call for Performance Proposals

The BareFoot Collective presents SiteWorks 2009, a summer outdoor festival
of site-specific dance and related-arts performances created for the plaza
spaces of the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. SiteWorks 2009 will be performed
free of charge on June 11-14.

Stipends for SiteWorks 2009 will be awarded for site-specific dance and
related arts performances

Proposals will include 1 copy of each of the following:

  • Narrative (10 font min., 1 page max.). Please be site specific by
    referencing sites;
  • Resume of Choreographer (10 font min., 5 page max.);
  • VHS or DVD documenting past work cued where viewing should start.
    Panelists will view a minimum of one minute, maximum eight minutes;
  • Explanation of documentation video (10 font min, 1 page max.);
  • You may include 1 additional piece of supporting material such as
    review, program, etc.

All submitted proposal items must clearly identify the submitter's name and
the function of the item (narrative, explanation of video, etc.). Incomplete
proposals will not be considered. Additional, unrequested materials will be
discarded.

Narratives should be no more than one page with font no smaller than 10 and
include the following:

  • Very brief bios of the choreographer and performing group;

  • Detailed description of proposed performance (Note: Choreographers may
    submit for more than one site by submitting a separate narrative for each).
    Please include:

  • general description of proposed work;

    • selected

    • number of performers;

    • costumes;

    • props;

    • duration of piece;

    • accompaniment - style of music;

    • availability/conflicts for scheduled performances;

    • technical requirements (please note that this is an outdoor
      performance festival; there will be very limited technical support
      available).
