One of our family members is recuperating from surgery and we need to install
a bidet on board for cruising in the Mediterranean. We have a VacuFlush
system, but VacuFlush has not been helpful other than beaurcratic
"non-responses" to our questions. A Raritan bidet seat attachment is made
for marine use, but they have been no help either. Raritan will not fit a
VacuFlush toilet. It would fit if the toilet tank were another 1-1/2"
narrower, so I asked about the possibility of replacing the VacuFlush toilet
tank with a Raritan toilet tank, but no response. Raritan's only suggestion
was to replace our entire VacuFlush system with their system! If we can't
find a realistic and cost effective solution to our requirement, then one
family member will have to miss this family cruise. Can anyone help? Bill

I was just out in the garage building something with some white
"starboard". I got to thinking that you could have someone take a sheet of
1/2 - 3/4 in. thick white starboard and, using the VacuFlush Base and the
bidet seat assembly, he should be able to make on "adaptor plate". (have
him raise the seat with spacers to make room for the adaptor below) ..jd

Our ancestors in Europe used a large bowl and a pitcher with warm
water for many long years before we had running (and heated) water
and flush-toilets. Perhaps your family member could get by that way
for duration of the cruise?
George of Scaramouche1, whose ancestors were Hugenots (France), where
the bidet was first invented.
Dear Bill
Suggest you get in touch with French boat builders like benetau, fountain
pajot etc. etc. they probably could answer/help
to your question, in the end as far as i know, the bidet is a french
invention.
Good luck

If you can access www.google.com and input the word Intimist in the search
blank, you will find lots of sites with dimensions and numerous Japanese
brands. A few of these units will fit smaller heads. However, some require
110V and a few run on rechargeable batteries.
HOWEVER, some sites showed portable models for travel! You will find that
many of the sites are actually owned by two companies. One of the big ones
is in Florida. I would pick a few 800 numbers and consult with them.
