Lighthouse Point Park - 10/18/17

Lighthouse Point Park, New Haven, 10/18/17, 7am-4:30pm - 41 Migrating Hawks. 2 Osprey, 8 Northern Harrier, 15 Sharp-shinned Hawk, 8 Cooper’s Hawk, 3 American Kestrel, 3 Merlin, 1 Unknown Falcon, and I Unknown Raptor. Half of them migrated between 10 am and 12 pm. None migrated after 3pm. Common Loon were on the move today. Counted 33, including impressive flocks of 16, 7, and 5 birds. Thanks to Robin McAllister for getting to Lighthouse at sunrise to count, Ed Haesche and visitors helping to spot the hawks in the clear blue sky.
