Meitner will begin a five-day Visiting Artist http://museumofglass.cmail4.com/t/y/l/bhjijr/kdtyjdkk/j residency in the Hot Shop today, and an exhibition of his work opens in the gallery on Saturday.
EXHIBITION
Opens Saturday, July 17
Meitner is known for creating intellectual, poetic and quixotic glass objects adorned with mixed media including rust, enamel, bronze and paint. Masters of Studio Glass: Richard Craig Meitner, http://museumofglass.cmail4.com/t/y/l/bhjijr/kdtyjdkk/t organized by The Corning Museum of Glass, showcases pieces from 23 years of his career (1978-2001) with works that create moments of astonishment and surprise that challenge viewers to question what they are seeing. The exhibition will remain on display until June 19, 2011.
