If you a handheld GPS it must be bale to "see" the source of the
signal, it probably canno do that from under your cabin top. Even in one our boats
with a T top and a fabric roof the surrounding metal frame work has an adverse
effect on that same model handheld. Get the external antenna, by the by, we
have found Garmin to be absolutely great.
