THIS WEEK IN TRI CLUB (SEPTEMBER 4-10)! We have a busy week ahead
culminating with some key events and close to 20 athletes in action! And
congrats to our Donut Derby finishers Joe DeNicola, Susan Flavin, Don Mack,
and David Stone for safely completing their dining and riding adventure
yesterday morning! While none were able to hang in with the event winner
who ingested 36(!) donuts and ended with a net time of 27 minutes (for 36
miles; includes 3 minutes/donut deduction off of his time), they all had a
safe and successful finish! It's about time: A couple of updates on workout
times... • Evening cycling: We will continue our outdoor Tuesday and
Thursday coached rides through the end of September. This week's rides will
start at 6pm and end between 7:15pm-7:30pm. For the rest of September,
starting on Tuesday 9/12 through Thursday 9/28, the ride start times will
be 5:30pm with finish times between 6:45pm-7:15pm. • Evening swims: We have
a NEW START/END TIME for our Monday and Wednesday evening coached swim
workouts starting tomorrow/Wednesday 9/6. Our new time slot is
7:35pm-8:35pm. The reason for the change has to do with the Spring Valley
YMCA transitioning back to pre-COVID hours. Morning swims are back! The
annual maintenance closure of the SVY indoor pool complex has ended and our
morning coached swims, mostly led by Don Schlichtmann, will restart
TODAY/September 5! These will take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning
at 10:15am-11:15am for the foreseeable future. Additionally, Sunday morning
swims return starting this Sunday 9/10; these are uncoached group swims
taking place 11:15am-12:15pm. And now that the outdoor swim complex is
closed for the season, the Saturday morning swim series is discontinued.
Monday evening Run workouts are back! We have also restarted Monday evening
coached run workouts. Karen Dunn will lead 6:00pm Monday evening run
workouts through the end of September and beyond. Workouts Attendance Poll:

open water and outdoor pool swim workouts every day and Mid-Atlantic
Multisport will have one additional Wednesday night OWS taking place next
