While aboard a friend's vessel headed up the Tenn-Tom last week, we moored
in the marina at Columbus, MS. I happened to note a fine looking 65-foot
Chris Craft with a Chicago home port. The boat was 1965 vintage all wood
and was perfect and gleaming in every single detail - I mean EVERY detail
down to the last gold leaf swirl in her name on the transom. After I headed
back home from Columbus, the captain running the vessel invited my friend
aboard. He reports it is every bit as perfect inside as it is outside. The
boat had just completed a 3-year, $200K refit in Mobile. I wonder what the
owner's big boat looks like?
