Hello,
Carlos Andrés Gómez <http://carloslive.com/> will be coming to PLU
April 2 (7pm in the University Center's Chris Knutsen Hall). A well known
spoken-word poet (and an actor and author), Carlos will challenge us to
think about what we all (men especially) can each do to create a more
equitable world (in terms of race, class, gender, sexual orientation,
nationality, etc) as we begin Sexual Assault Awareness Month this year.
Below you will find more information about his performance.
The event will be free to the PLU & broader community, though we ask
that you please help us plan seating by registering
herehttps://docs.google.com/a/plu.edu/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dE1WS2pjQXJ4Mm15TE9kamdYNDhhV3c6MQ#gid=0.
Feel free to pass this on to others on campus who might be interested
and/or use the attached poster to help spread the word. Please note that we
do expect to fill the CK and that all seats will be on a first come, first
served basis.
Thank you and have a wonderful start to Spring!

A special interactive performance with *Carlos Andrés
Gómezhttp://carloslive.com/
*(author of Man Up: Cracking the Code of Modern Manhood) that looks at
what it means to be a ‘good man’ in a world where masculinity is too often
confined by the narrowest and most limiting of definitions. Carlos engages
the audience in a dialogue-focused, high-octane town hall, in which they
explore the complex dimensions of how masculinity plays out in the world
and, also, reimagine how it might exist for the better. No topic or issue
is shied away from in this provocative and riveting program, as the group
delves deep into the powerful, haunting, and beautiful dimensions of what
it can mean to be a man and how that impacts the world.
