Pre-registration is open for LTAB-Tacoma: The Tacoma Teen Poetry Festival
until the end of January. We have space for 16 teams in the poetry slam,
which takes place April 27-28 at Tacoma Community College. Register here
http://write253.com/ltab_2018_preregistration/.

What do you need to get a team together? We're glad you asked!

Teams can rep schools and community organizations in Tacoma and Pierce
County. It's open to middle and high schools and groups of teens who meet
regularly.

  • A group of teens who attend the same school? You know it!
  • Teen advisory committee for a non-profit? Definitely!
  • Youth group at a church, temple, mosque? Totally!
  • After school program at a school or community center? You bet!

You need a minimum of 4 poets and a coach to form a team! If you have
questions about if your team would qualify, email us and we can talk it
through.

But wait! Maybe you are a poet without a team. Don't worry, we have space
for you, too. Independent poets can sign up to compete in the slam as well.

What is a poetry slam? It's friendly Olympic-style competition where the
point is not the points, the point is the poetry! Poets get three
uninterrupted minutes to share their work to an eager and supportive
audience. It's also a great opportunity to meet poets from all over the
region.

Don't miss out on a chance to be a part of #LTAB2018.
