like Steve Dashew have posted a number of articles on how they avoid the
need for constant A/C. However we do not see too many designs that
incorporate his excellent ideas.
But strangely, his "unsailboat" uses an AC generator, rather than the
DC generator/synchronized inverter approach. The latter, it seems to
me, is simply a better idea.
He does use a couple of tons of "traction" batteries, which are a
needed drop in his ballast bucket.
