Several responders indicated satisfaction with Phantom-type
retracting screens.  Phantom website indicates professional
installation is usual but at least one responder did his own
installation.  Only downside mentioned (other than cost) is that
the ?housing? for the rolled-up door is about 2? wide, thereby
reducing door-opening by that amount.  Magnetic screens ?as seen on
TV? received mixed reviews, mostly negative.  Those who were
satisfied did extensive alterations to screens to compensate for
irregular-width  door openings or irregular heights of openings.  In
any event, these installations involved skilled sewing-machine
ability, at least as far as I can judge.  Thanks to all for sharing
your experiences. Bob Siegel Annapolis

We put Phantom Screens on Barric II over ten years ago and have been
very pleased with them.  We had them professioinally installed.  The
only installation problem was caused by the pilot house door shapes.
The Phantom Screens require that the top and bottom of the door be
perpendicular to the sides,  in other words, perfect rectangles.  I
had to get a piece of teak and cut it to reshape the bottom of the
door frames.  And, yes, the housing reduces the door oopening slightly.
