WESTERN KINGBIRD (with a tail) that put in a 2-3 minute appearance
treetop-hopping its way through park. Also one imm GOLDEN EAGLE, one
imm NORTHERN GOSHAWK, one Peregrine Falcon, 24 AMERICAN PIPITS, 7
RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, 14 PURPLE FINCHES.

10/26/09 - Madison, Hammonasset SP -- previously reported HUDSONIAN
GODWIT present at 9:45 am back in the same location as last week in
the now replenished rain pools west of West Beach parking lot.
(Yesterday, 10/25/09, I saw the HUDSONIAN GODWIT in rain pools east of
the West Beach parking lot for the first time since its arrival over a
week ago that it was not in its usual 50 yard diameter location west
of the parking lot.)

10/26/09 - Madison, Hammonasset SP -- Hudsonian Godwit continues west
of West Beach Parking. Common Eider seen close to jetty, I thought
the eider was an imm male due to the black and white stipling on the
breast, the lighter brown crown contrasting with the very dark face
and the lack of barring on the flanks.

10/26/09 - Madison, Hammonasset SP -- at 10:00ish am the WESTERN
KINGBIRD continues near the two dirt piles at East Beach, flycatching
and flying from the bare branched trees between the two piles. The
HUDSONIAN GODWIT was present at the regular spot in the grass field
beyond the West Beach parking lot, pulling up earth worms and grubs
and giving great views.

sandbars -- 1 Wilson's Snipe. In the Spartina, quite a few
Sharp-tailed Sparrows: at least 5 Nelson's (2 very pale), 1 prob.
Saltmarsh. Also, 1 Seaside Sparrow. On the sand, 15 Snow Buntings.

1 SWAINSON'S THRUSH, just west of where the hudwit has been hanging
out, over the culvert near the dumptster, 1 AMERICAN BITTERN which
flew west. Neat the re-built marsh 1 AMERICAN BITTERN flying towards
the east beach parking lot.
