Notice of Race

Seventh annual distance race on the Hudson

  1. RULES
    

The race will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing, and US Sailing Appendix T, Alternative Procedures for Dispute
Resolution.

  1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
    

The race is open to all members of HRYRA that have a current HRYRA or
YRA-LIS PHRF certificate.  There will be two divisions, spinnaker and
non-spinnaker.

Eligible boats may register on line at NyackBoatClub.org, or at the NBC
clubhouse between 0800 and 0900 on Oct. 1, 2017.

  1. ENTRY FEE
    

The entry fee is $25.  If not a US Sailing member, there is an additional $5
fee.

  1. SCHEDULE
    

There will be one race for each division.

Saturday, October 1, 2016

0800          Registration

0900          Competitors meeting

1030          Spinnaker division warning signal

               Non-Spinnaker signal will follow

Award Presentation after completion of racing.

  1. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
    

Sailing Instructions will be available at NyackBoatClub.org and at check-in.
In the event of a conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing
Instructions, the Sailing Instructions will prevail. This modifies RRS 63.7.

  1. VENUE
    

The racing area will be the part of the Hudson River between Nyack and Stony
Point.  The start and finish will be near the Nyack Boat Club.

  1. SCORING
    

The race will use the Time on Time PHRF scoring.

  1. PRIZES
    

Prizes will be awarded to the top two boats in each division.

  1. RADIO COMMUNICATION
    

a.    Boats shall use the VHF channel 78 to communicate with race committee
as specified in the SI's.

b.    Except for these circumstances, a boat shall neither make radio
transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to
all boats.  This restriction also applies to cell phones.

  1. MOORINGS

A limited number of moorings are available for guests.  Submit request by
emailing Eric Kent at the address below.  If anchoring, please do so north
of the mooring field.

  1. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule
4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability
for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction
with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

  1. INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability
insurance.
