I"m new to the site. Maybe to start with, I'll ask for some guidence. I am 3 days from leaving Mobile Bay on the first leg of doing the loop, or part of it.  I live on a 34 Marine Trader.
Don't try and talk me out of it because I don't have much choice. I only have one other option, to go up the Mobile River and do the loop in reverse, but with spring coming on, that's not much of an option. I rode out Katrina up in the Gulfport Industrial Canal. Point Cadet Biloxi was home, but since there isn't much left of it, it's time to move on. The plan is to be as far away from the Gulf and Florida as possible by June.
So, If anyone has any words of wisdom, bring'm on

Chuck,

We are leaving Patterson, La.  on the Great Circle Cruise Mar1.
Our insurance Co.,  St. Paul ( USPS plan) dictates,  that we be out of
Fla., above 31 degree N lat. , by June 27 but we had planned to be out
by  June 15 anyway!
See you in the Keys.

Who in their right mind would try and talk you out of going cruising?  As
for words of wisdom, here are a few from The Wind in the Willows
Kenneth Grahame 1908

"Believe me, my young friends" said the Water Rat solemnly,  "There is
nothing . . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply
messing around in boats, . . .  Simply messing, . . .  Nothing really
seems to matter,  That's the charm of it . . .  whether you get away, or
whether you don't, whether you arrive at your destination or whether you
reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're
always busy, and you never do anything in particular". . .

                                      Regards....
