John observed: Hi Scott -
Sorry, I meant no slur on Nordhavn owners. I meant to convey that, IMHO, PAE portrays their boats quite loftily compared to their peers.
Scott replies: A perfect example of how misinterpreted the "lofty" statement :)
Thanks for the clarification John
I think I blurred the lines because of the context of the Owners Forum discussion. Hopefully everyone now knows that several people watching both lists will try to make surerelevantt information is cross posted.
John added: Over the years, the superlatives in the ads have become a bit over the edge. I don't see other quality manufacturers using Mad Av one-liners like "A boat that meets all conditions of the sea..." I think that's a far-fetched statement about a 55-foot boat!
And Scott replies: Tag lines and Marketing are designed to attract buyers. Layup schedules, boat design, equipment selection and installation is where the rubber meets the road, or the prop churns the water and few would argue that Nordhavns are purpose built for long range extended cruising. Are they "At home on any ocean?" Do they deliver "Power that is oceans apart"? I don't know, but at least it's clear who they are trying to sell to, rather than saying "our platform is all things to all people".
PS, please note the tag lines above arecopywritedd by PAE, please don't have the lawyerss call me :)
Back to talking about boats.
Off topic, but I have to say, this week recieveded my $1,700 stack of paper charts from Bellingham Chart Printers. This represents the Pacific NW to FL via the Panama Canal. It's a stack of charts about 3 inches thick, not sure exactly how many. I'm now faced with converting the honey bunk in the pilot house to a chart storage area. Busy, busy, busy. Scott
Scott,
Which size did you select? I'm assuming that these are their prints.
