I have a Delco Remy 145 amp alternator from which I would like to drive a
tachometer. How can I tell which terminal to connect the alternator to?

If there is no current external connection, any alternator shop can add
this connection for a tach, usually running the wiring from inside the
atlernator to the outside, ending in a connection that is 'wire tied' in
place on the outside of the housing.

If you post the model number of the alternator we can probably tell you
what terminal to use, if there is one. If there is none, as Rudy said,
an alternator shop can add one for you. "Delco 145 amp" is not specific
enough.
