Alex - is this an original appellation w/you?

\We recently repowered with a John Deere 6068TFM.  Book says to change oil at
500, yes 500 hours as long as we use their house brand PLUS-50 and filter.
If we use the poor peoples stuff like DELO 400 then they want us to change at
250 hours.  Now we are all petty sure that JD neither owns their own wells and
refineries nor is likely to be in the filter manufacturing business.  The API
stuff on the JD lub oil is the current CJ.CI4 or CH4 .  I'm
not sure cause she who must doesn't allow five gal pails of oil at son's
thanksgiving table.  So just take it as a matter of faith that the current JD and
current DELO API labeling is the same.

In passing JD wants API DD or CD to be used as break in, not to exceede 150
hours, oil.  This is of course the stuff most of us have been using as
"regular" lube oil in our probulsion and gen set engines.  Hmmmm.

Your thoughts appreciated as always.
