Bob .......... We had an old boy next door that had one of the original
Bermuda 40's fiberglass. I watched him do his thing with latex and a fine
sponge roller and foam tipping brush. He used semi gloss so that every tiny
defect would not stand out, saved prep time. It seemed to feather and sand
beautifully. I never looked real close up, but who does, we all look at it
from the dock. Basically it was clean, shinny clean, and no scratches or
dings.
It looked good enough for the next 3 years, before he sanded and rolled
another coat on. And new boat again.
I could never see a problem where the fenders hung.
No oil products were involved so it was easy to go back to the urethanes.
It's got me thinking...........
I'm going to put this on the net, I'm sure others are interested.....
