To Dan's list I would add

Tubing wrenches.
These are essential if you have to work on a fuel line or injectors.  They
look like box wrenches with a small gap cut in the ring to allow slipping
the box over the  fuel line. Grips much better than a regular open end
wrench.  Select sizes to fit your lines.  Often sold individually instead of
a whole set. Prevents damaging the  pipes.

Tap and Die  set.
Used to chase rusty threads  before re-assembly.  Otherwise you do not get
correct torque and possibly not a tight fit.
The hardened dies easily cut through rusty scale, etc.  The taps also cleans
out the  blind holes in cast iron engine blocks etc.
Apart from that  I have used taps and dies to fabricate replacement nuts and
bolts from raw bar stock including  welder's brazing rod  as the occasion
required.
Over the years my set has returned their purchase cost ten times over.  The
one size you need is always the one that is out of stock when you need it.

Cheers

Arild
