Anu will join master glassblower Arto Lahtinen in making both Toikka- and Penttinen-designed birds in the Hot Shop, including the creation of a brand new Penttinen bird to commemorate the Museum's 5-year partnership with iittala, Inc. <http://www.iittala.com/web/Iittalaweb.nsf/en/iittala> The weekend also features the 2008 limited-edition Ruffed Grouse, <http://www.museumofglassstore.org/Ruffed-GrousebrMuseum-of-Glass-2008-A nnual-Bird-from-iittala-P2836C7.aspx> designed specifically for the Museum of Glass by acclaimed iittala designer Oiva Toikka. <http://www.iittala.com/web/Iittalaweb.nsf/en/designers_oiva_toikka> Professor Toikka designed the bird during his 2007 Visiting Artist residency in the MOG Hot Shop.
