NCL board members, I’m forwarding my recent email correspondence with Sharon Bonney at COABE for your review. A few thoughts: - When we have finalized the decisions on Judy Mortrude and Christy Rhodes, I will update the NCL website with current board member and board officer information - We need decisions on three related matters: o Whether board meeting dates/times should be posted on the public website o Whether member organization reps who are not elected board members should be invited/permitted/encouraged to participate in board meetings (they should not participate in executive committee meetings, in my view) o Whether the minutes of board meetings should be posted on the public website or made available to member reps in some other way I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these matters at Monday’s meeting. We had asked about board meetings as we had wanted to participate as a dues paying member, but despite repeated requests did not receive the minutes or any related information on this and did not see the dates for board meetings posted on the listserve. Is this information sent out to all dues paying members or how does that work? We had also asked for information on who serves on the board (a roster), as well as about the elections, specifically because we understood elections were supposed to take place in September but did not take place at the face to face meeting. Having served on other boards, I can't really wrap my head around why this information is being with held. I understand that it's a volunteer board, but all the more, wouldn't NCL want their members involved and wouldn't they want to share these details to ensure greater participation?
