Captnwil,

I am not getting a very good word picture here!

The following table gives the freezing temperature of brine expressed in
parts of a common box of Morton Salt of 1,625 pounds per gallon of water.

1,625 pounds per gallon?

I do not understand the "common box" unit of measurement.

If your salt box is different, adjust the values.

?  Our Morton Salt comes in a cylindrical "carton".

The "common box" is just a bad attempt to describe the carton.  Sometimes
the words just don't fit the carton.  The important thing is to look at the
net weight on the "thing" to see it its weight is 26 ounces (1 lb. 10 oz).
I have seen salt in rectangular boxes as well as cylinder containers.  In
any event, I was trying to make it easy to use a measurement that salt is
commonly packaged in.  Maybe package would be a better description the
either "box" or "container."

Hope that helps.
