A former colleague of mine from the UK has requested my advice on a

Loop excursion. He will be in the US for three months next summer.
His
son will lend him his Albin 27 and has agreed to trailer it to the

starting point and pick it up from the end point.

I seek the list's advice on the most interesting three month section

of the Loop. My personal preference would be to start in Chesapeake

Bay, cruise up the Jersey Shore to the Hudson, take the Erie Canal
to
Oswego, and then the Canadian Canals to Georgian Bay. But since I
live
in the area, I am certainly biased. It has been over 20 years since
I
traveled other areas (except for the ICW from Florida) and many
changes may have taken place that I know nothing about.

The only criterion is that the trip be doable in three months in a

relaxed cruise and that the weather be better than a Welsh summer.

I would begin  at Waterford to allow more time on the Erie Canal, Trent-Severn
Waterway, Georgian Bay and North Chanel. An Albin 27 is the perfect boat for
that trip. Jon on Valentine, presently at Bobcagion southbound on the Trent
Severn.
