TAP announces viral video contest
TAP has
launched a viral video contest that encourages amateur and professional
filmmakers to create a 30 second video promoting the mission of Tacoma
Art Place.
Sponsored
by Comcast, the contest winner will receive a $250 cash prize The
winning video will also be displayed on the Tacoma Art Place website, www.tacomaartplace.org, and on the Comcast website, comcastwashington.mediaroom.com.
"We're
trying to encourage more participation in a variety of art mediums and
thought a contest would be a fun incentive to encourage people to give
it a try if they've never produced a video. We hope many
of our entrants will gain experience to also give the Grand Cinema's
72-hour Film Competition a try later this year" said TAP founder Linda
Danforth.
Video
submissions are due by February 28, 2010 and a winner will be selected
on April 1st. The rules are simple- videos will be uploaded to www.youtube.com, and
the video with the most number of hits by the end of the month-long
viewing period will be declared the winner. For an entry form and
guidelines, please visit the TAP Website and look for an announcement mid-way down the front page.
