We are in the process of putting radar and GPS on our Monk 36. The
installer recommends putting them on the bridge which has only a
bimini top. While we are on the bridge 90% of our cruising time, we
fear that installing the equipment there will be a mistake for that
10% of the time when weather forces us below. Is there a reasoned
choice between bridge and cabin? or are repeaters the only answer?
Thanks.

Ralph:
Consider splitting the cables and making both locations available for
both units. That's what I have done with the Furuno 1931 radar I have,
and the Furuno GP35 GPS. I just move them down below when I need to use
the lower helm. The cable for the radar is a little work to split, but
it is relatively easy to do. Just takes time. If you are interested, I
will respond to your question off line. You don't need repeaters.

Russ===========There is a way of two stations for the cost of extra
mounting brackets.
