Dear Colleagues,
The AAS has just officially opened the call for proposals for the upcoming Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference to be held March 21-24, 2019, in Denver, CO.  Given the resounding success of last year’s panels, the Society for Song, Yuan, and Conquest Dynasty Studies will again offer sponsorship for two panels in our research timeframe for the 2019 AAS. The selected panels will receive official recognition by the Society on the conference program. Additionally, panelists will receive funds to offset the cost of participation, including conference registration and $100/person for travel costs for up to five participants (typically the panel chair and four panelists, but other configurations are possible). Final proposals will be subject to the regular application requirements and selection process of AAS and funding is contingent on AAS acceptance (application deadline August 1, 2018). If you would like to apply for SSYCDS sponsorship, please send a cv, draft proposal, and names and contact information of panel participants to the Secretary (Reiko Shinno SHINNOR@uwec.edumailto:SHINNOR@uwec.edu) by July 16, 2018.  Please note that you must be a member of the Society to receive support. We look forward to receiving your proposals.
With all good wishes,
Tracy
