We are in Chattanooga at the public library.  I can access the internet, and I can bring up Outlook to receive email.  I cannot send emial from Outlook.  Operating system is MS 2000.

Any help appreciated - send direct to ganor@bellsouth.net.

Had good run up here with no problems.  Will stay a day or three to let the rains pass before going on up to wander around a bit north of Chickamuaga Lock.

Trees are getting ready to turn.

I assuming you are talking about trying to send Email on your bellsouth.net
ISP Email account.

ISPs will typically block any outgoing mail on their servers unless you are
accessing it through their network.  Idea is to cut down on accounts being
hi-jacked on the outside world.  So, even though you can outlook can reach
the outgoing Email server at bellsouth.net, because you are accessing it
through an outside service (the library in this case) the mail server will
not approve access.  You might ask Bell South if the would allow it for
you,, but my guess it no way.

Suggest you get a gmail account.  It not only is free, and is a rather good
web based Email system, but they also allow for POP2/SMTP access into your
Gmail account so you can use Outlook to send and/or receive Emails, just
like you  currently do with your bellsouth.net account.  Get a choice:
Access Email via a web brouser on line, or do Email download using Outlook.
However, unlike most ISPs, gmail allows access to their SMPT sending servers
from any access point.  And Gmail does not charge for the pop3/smtp access!

Unless Gmail changes their policies, they have all (and more) that any
traveling user would want or need for an Email account.
