If you have any plans to visit Australia, particularly if you have a
wooden hull boat, or cabin or major structural components of wood, you
want to read this web page. If you aren't going to Australia, be aware
of what is on the horizon for any boats that could be carrying termites.

I have had my nose rubbed in this subject due to a close encounter with
a wood boat.
By the way, I hear that certain "R" refrigerant materials have to be
removed, and a laundry list of "hazardous" materials dealt with if
shipping your boat to Australia. New rules as of Jan 2012.

Capt Mike Maurice
