Hi Dave -

Penny and I just docked in Jacksonville following a delightful 2.5 day,
glassy offshore passage from Beaufort NC to Jacksonville FL. Great  motorboat wx!
As we passed Tybee Roads, the AIS display from an  inbound tow listed their
destination as Philadelphia. Penny had to  yank the mic from my hand as I was
switching the VHF to 13 to tell him that he  couldn't get to Philly from
Savannah. Point is we see incorrect and  missing info all the time; who will enforce
it? No one, methinks. Sort of like  red light enforcement in the USA has
become - the cops are apathetic.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and regards,

John
"Seahorse"

PS - Dave - Yikes - send us some cheap Diesel!

Dave asked > Is there anyway of reporting a ship that is "missing"  an AIS
signature?

John,

I have been readng this board for a while and saw you are in Jacksonville. I live here, not sure how long you will be here or if you might have some interest and/or time in having someone stop by.  I am just listening and reading all I can hoping to one day become a passagemaker myself. Thanks for all of your posts.
