Report for May 26, 2002 (Sunday):

Today there was a distinct increase in the number of migrants at Point
Pelee -- including both Black-billed and Yellow-billed Cuckoos, and many
warblers.  Many of the warblers were singing males, indicating that
migration will continue for some time.

Miscellaneous birds reported lately include the  following:

MAY 25 (Saturday):

Little Gull -- immature -- Tip
Black-crowned Night-Heron -- 1 -- SE Woodland Nature Trail
Hairy Woodpecker -- 1 -- S end of Northwest Beach

MAY 26 (Sunday):

Mourning Warbler -- 8 -- Woodland Nature Trail
Black-billed Cuckoo -- 3 -- Woodland Nature Trail
Yellow-billed Cuckoo -- 6 -- Woodland Nature Trail
Tufted Titmouse -- 1 -- Visitor Centre
Red Knot -- 3 -- Tip

Fields north of Point Pelee continue to attract Black-bellied Plover,
Dunlin, Ruddy Turnstone, Least Sandpiper, and other shorebirds and gulls.
Today the Tip had numerous Sanderling, Ruddy Turnstone, Dunlin and (3)
Red Knot.
