A Dandy Flashlight

Rich, Ladies, Gentlemen and all flashlight lovers,

I cannot help but chime in regarding my favorite flashlight. It is the Sipak SK 68 with a CREE 3watt led, a convex lens, a variable focus from spot to flood.  It uses 1 AA battery.  A fresh battery will run it for over 1.5 hours.  After it goes dead on the continuous run it can be used again for a long time once the battery recovers.  They are available at various online sources and they can usually be bought for around $5.00 online.  I tend to order a dozen or so at a time and give them away.  10-12 on a order generally maximize the number you can get with the low price dollar or two CHinese post shipment.  THe light has a strong clip on it which I remove from the one I always carry in my pocket.  SO useful to read the dipstick under the hood, small print on anything, die stamped sizes on taps and drills, restaurant wine lists and menus in those too dark fine dining establishments or dive bars.

The combination of small size, cheap and easily available battery, long run time, bright light, variable focus and cheap price make it a real dandy.  Just google Sipak SK68 and you will find a multitude of places selling them.  Spend a few minutes looking through the sources to find the best price/freight combination.  You'll be happy you bought some.

All the best,

Gary Hagstrom
